(Malta, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Bekki D'Agata, Events Director at SiGMA, spoke exclusively with SoloAzar last week at the end of the fifth edition of the Summit of iGaming, Malta. “Our expectations are met and exceded,” she said.

“This edition of SIGMA has been absolutely amazing”

What balance can you make of the recent edition of SIGMA?

This edition of SIGMA has been absolutely amazing. It has exceded all of our expectations. We've had so many different exhibitors from different places.

How many exhibitors did you expect?

To be honest, we expected 12,000, but it exceded that number. Last year we had about 8,000, 8,100, and this year we've had 12,500 or perhaps even more, so it has been pretty fantastic. We´ve even extended half of the tent and added a new tent on the other side of the conference and the media room, so we've doubled the floor plan to meet the demands, and we´ve definitely met them.

What were the highlights this year?

I think the highlights in SIGMA this year were the fantastic exhibitors. We've had a couple of really good key speakers, we had Monty Munford amongst many other important people. Blockchain has really impacted the i-gaming industry positively, so we have a lot of curious blockchain companies coming through as well, and it has been a fantastic positive experience over all.

What was the feedback received from the exhibitors and visitors as well?

I've been speaking to exhibitors all day, and they´ve all say the same thing: the venue is bigger and it is better than they expected. We´ve had exhibitors that have been with us in previous editions and also new exhibitors, and they are all really happy, they all feel that SIGMA has grown since last year and that it has improved. It has become more professional and it is such an established name. It´s our fifth year now and it is bigger and stronger than ever.

We´ve had people from Argentina, Peru, and other parts of Latin America. They are involved and we are excited to see what will happen next year in that part of the world. I head that we've actually impacted there and it's really exciting for us.  We are looking forward to being there next year.

Have you met your expectations?

Our expectations are met and exceded. Honestly, it is bigger and better than expected. We've had the expo, we've had the networking event, and everyone was really really happy. Not only our expectations have been exceeded but those from our exhibitors, our partners, our speakers. It was a success overall.

Do you have the date for next year's edition?

We don't have the date yet, but it will be at the end of 2019, in November, more that likely.

What about Alpha Booth Camp?

We are definitely coming back. We´ve had such a good experience at Alpha Booth Camp Latam and they wellcomed us with open arms, it is such a fantastic experience. We are definitely coming back, but we have not confirmed where it is yet, but we will do it very soon.

What about Argentina, Peru, Brazil?

Argentina and Peru are definitely on our shortlist, I can tell you that, but we need to confirm the date. We are going to Manila in March, we are going to Africa as well, and we've got a blockchain Summit in May, and again, later on in the year, and we also have ICE in February, so we need to find a month which is a little bit quieter.

Every agency is interested in our product. We are happy to be approached, we are happy to give information to everyone. Everyone is interested in SIGMA and in the products that we have, and it is a fantastic product and it is definitely marketed very well.
